In our latest equipment review video, Alex from GolfMagic went down to Mannings Heath Golf and Wine Estate to compare the Garmin S42 watch and the Shot Scope V3 GPS golf watch.
The Garmin S42 watch is more expensive than the Shot Scope watch at £269.00 and it is very much a high quality, hybrid golf watch.
It is not just an item for golf, but you can also wear it out and about, linking it to your phone so that you can receive notifications.
The Garmin S42 has a larger face than the Shot Scope watch, which makes it easier to navigate with the touch screen technology and with a button as well.
However, this watch is slightly more complicated to use on the golf course than the Shot Scope watch, but it does automatically tell you how far you have hit your ball.
The Shot Scope V3 watch couldn't be worn off the golf course like the Garmin S42 could, but the data and statistical services that it offers is second to none.
At £179.00, the watch offers front, middle and back pin positions and yardages and you can also find out yardages to bunkers and other hazards.
If you are a keen golfer who is looking to find out what areas you need to improve your game the most, then the Shot Scope V3 watch is absolutely perfect.
With the golf improvement services that it offers, the watch is well worth the £179.00 price tag and it potentially offers better value for money than the Garmin S42.
Both watches aim at separate markets. The Shot Scope V3 GPS golf watch is the complete golfing product, where as the Garmin S42 offers golf services and every day use.
With this in mind, this shows that it just depends on what type of device you want, whether it is a product revolved around golf, or one that serves golf and life in general.
