Inside the Adam Scott equipment switch that left the golf world stunned
After much speculation, the Aussie has confirmed he'll be moving away from his long-trusted broomstick once again this weekend. Here's what he'll be using.

Few pieces of tour equipment news have rocked the industry in recent times quite as much as Adam Scott, arguably the man who brought broomstick putters to the very forefront of the game, flirting with a move back to a standard length putter.
The Australian, long one of the tour's most consistent putters before dropping down the putting standings throughout the 2025 season, made headlines last month when he was spied testing out a standard-length putter at the BMW PGA Championship.
Scott ultimately tested two standard length putters – the L.A.B OZ.1i HS, a new heel-shafted variant of the LAB OZ.1 he co-designed with the American putter manufacturer, and a L.A.B DF3 zero torque putter – in play across the weekend.
Since then, equipment nerds have been on tenterhooks awaiting the news on the outcome of Scott's experiment. Now, with the Aussie set to take part at the Baycurrent Classic, he's confirmed that he will indeed be switching back into a standard-length putter once more for this weekend's action.
Speaking to reporters in the lead-up to this week's tournament, he expanded on his decision to switch in the first place, saying “Yeah. Really, my putting this year has let me down. I didn’t feel bad with it, but the putts just weren’t going in. So I decided to change that and get a new fresh feeling and hopefully see a few putts go in.“
We're not sure which one of the OZ.1i HS and the DF3 Scott has elected to put in play this weekend, but most seem to think that given he co-designed it, it'll be the former. Scott also confirmed that he'll be playing a 35-inch shaft.
Scott has a long-standing association with L.A.B golf, really helping put the American zero torque specialists on the map after switching to a broomstick version of their Mezz.1 putter back in 2022.
L.A.B's reputation on tour in 2025 speaks for itself, with the likes of J.J. Spaun, Rickie Fowler and Will Zalatoris all having switched into the company's putters in recent times – however Scott's association with the brand as a long-time user and co-developer of their products is deeper than most.
We'll be sure to bring you more updates on Scott's putter situation as they arise.
