The pros might not be playing outdoor golf just yet this year, but Ludvig Åberg is one of many elite players already making major moves in a quest to set themselves up right for the 2026 season.

As reported by Golf.com equipment insider Jack Hirsh, the Titleist staff player debuted two significant new pieces of kit during his season-opening TGL match against Atlanta Drive. The first isn't a huge surprise, the Swede having swapped out his two-year-old T100 irons for the new version released last year.

The fourth-generation T-Series line took Titleist's core iron offering to a new level last year, debuting an entirely new model in the players' distance-profiled T250 and refining the package of the T100 with a new multi-material construction, re-engineered CG for higher launch and a revised Variable Bounce Sole for better turf interaction.

While contracted to play Titleist clubs, Åberg harbours an affinity with a number of other brands, having played TaylorMade fairway woods and an Odyssey putter for some time now.

And like many players who game TaylorMade clubs, Åberg has seemingly been swayed by the immediate popularity of the new Qi4D fairway woods. Åberg joins Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler among the players who have instantly taken to the new line of metal woods, with the number two and number two both slotting the 2026 model driver into the bag towards the end of last year.

Currently ranked 18th in the world (down from an all-time high of number four), the 26-year-old's last tour win came in February 2025 at the Genesis Invitational.

Putting in an initial strong showing at Augusta, Sunday at the Masters sadly saw him tumble out of contention late in the day, however the Swede bounced back to deliver a solid performance as part of Team Europe at the Ryder Cup.

Åberg will be hoping the switch will help take his game to new heights in 2026 as he continues his quest for that elusive first major victory.
