adidas CodeChaos SE Golf Shoes Key Features:

  • Boost Midsole: delivers long-lasting on-course comfort
  • Rubber wrapping spikeless outsole: designed to provide traction and stability in all conditions
  • Moulded EVA sockliner: offers enhanced comfort and allows shoes to be put on and taken off easily

Worn by notable golfers like Tyrrell Hatton and Daniel Berger, adidas' CodeChaos SE shoes represent a contemporary interpretation of the spikeless golf shoe. The distinctive design, characterised by a wrap-around sole, instantly sets these shoes apart, making them easily recognisable.

While opinions on the design may vary, there's no denying that it stands out as one of the most intriguing models currently available.

The innovative approach taken by adidas designers goes beyond aesthetics; they sought to redefine the traditional golf shoe. In doing so, they not only created a visually striking design but also seamlessly integrated some of the brand's most advanced technologies.

The objective was clear: to ensure that the CodeChaos shoes not only make a statement on the fairway but also deliver the performance expected by top-tier players in the game.

Eager to assess their performance, we took the CodeChaos shoes onto the course to test them in a variety of different conditions.

Let's get into it.

adidas CodeChaos SE Golf Shoes Looks:

Taking these shoes out of their box for the first time, our eyes were instantly drawn to the textured wrap-around sole that creeps up the side of the shoes.

constructed from a durable rubber, the wrap-around outsole is designed to provide greater traction, but it also takes centre stage as the most attention-grabbing design feature on the shoe.

In all honesty, we can't decide whether we love or hate the addition of this outsole. On one side, it does provide a nice point of difference from other shoes on the market, but on the other, it does look a little bit like a child's interpretation of what a cartoon superhero might wear to fight crime.

Elsewhere on the shoe, the traditional adidas three stripes feature a subtle cracked texture, which softens the branding well to fit in with the overall design.

In terms of shape, these shoes are broad where you want them to be, around the widest part of the foot, but form into a nicely rounded point at the toe to create a sleek and dynamic profile at address.

The enlarged heel tab is also a welcome addition, not only visually but also practically, allowing you to slip the shoes on with ease.

Overall, the predominantly white shoe looks smart and modern, and while the wrap-around sole may not be to everyone's taste, we must commend adidas for trying something a bit different.

adidas CodeChaos Golf SE Shoes Comfort and Performance:

Easily slid on, these shoes provide a snug fit, and we would recommend going half a size up if you are planning on purchasing a pair online.

While they were perhaps a touch narrow for our liking, these shoes do have plenty of cushioning around the heel and an excellent amount of bounce in the sole, thanks to the full-length Boost midsole.

Much like the adidas UltraBoost golf shoes, the full-length Boost midsole in the CodeChaos delivers one of the most enjoyable walking experiences of any shoe on the market.

Apart from the slight discomfort we experienced due to potentially having the shoes a half size too small, thanks to the lightweight, breathable construction these shoes deliver, you can quickly forget you are wearing golf shoes and not a pair of your favourite trainers.

In terms of traction there are certainly more stable golf shoes on the market. While they would undoubtedly provide plenty of grip in dry conditions, we tested them on fairly wet turf, and there was a bit of give in the swing that a full set of spikes could likely prevent.

All in all, these shoes are solid without being spectacular in the comfort and performance department. Had we gone half a size up, we might have rated them slightly better, but hopefully, you can learn from our mistake and get an ideal fit.
