Summary

As the first adjustable hybrid presented by Wilson Staff, the new FG Tour M3 hybrid features a Multi Fit System technology allowing golfers to adjust both the loft and the sole weight for optimised trajectory and increased clubhead speeds. The FG Tour M3 hybrids offer tour-inspired shapes and technology for Feel (F) and Control (C) players.

Appearance

A compact head shape that lower handicappers will enjoy. All four testers enjoyed the all-black look as it gave it a chic appearance. Only downside for three testers was that the hosel was too chunky due to the adjustability. No direct alignment aid on the crown as such but you do have the yellow dot on the adjustable hosel to help set the club down square at address, as well as a different coloured top rail like the PING G30 Hybrid. 4 (out of 5)

Feel

One of the harder feeling hybrids in the test but still appealing. Gave us confidence that we could control the ball flight and work the ball. Andy loved the heavier sole weight as he felt it helped him go down and after the ball and pop it airborne. The standard Aldila RIP Phenom 85 aids a lower launching ball flight compared to others in the test, but the clubhead feels very stable and there's plenty of feedback on offer. 8 (out of 10)

Performance

This was one of the longer hybrids in the test and it offered a good amount of forgiveness which we didn’t expect due to the head shape. We were able to work the ball with ease and the adjustability was an added bonus. Turf interaction felt great from both fairway and semi-rough as the ball popped up sweetly off the clubface. 8 (out of 10)

Verdict

A good-looking hybrid that performs to a high standard but also offers forgiveness. Probably the best hybrid out there you're not considering. 20 (out of 25)
