Is this BIZARRE DRIVE an early contender for worst drive of the year?

Golf is hard, very hard. For anyone who has been to a driving range or a golf course, this will already be a well-known fact.

We all dream of hitting fairways and finding greens in regulation, but sometimes, the image in our head does not match the shot we hit in real life.

Driving can be especially difficult. If you cannot master your long game, this can make the sport a tiresome and frustrating chore instead of an enjoyable activity.

For one golfer in the footage below, it seems that he suffers from this frustrating chore. Unfortunately, the man didn't even move his ball off the tee box, let alone try to find the fairway.

The lefty has his ball teed up on a sunny day and he is primed and ready to find the fairway. He has a tall, towering stance and he looks like he could move his ball a long way down the hole.

However, as he swings back, the disappointment becomes clear very quickly. Quite incredibly, he manages to swing his driver head underneath the ball and it just falls to the floor where the tee would have been.

It would be hard to hit this shot if you were trying to, but this golfer has achieved it when trying to find the fairway. It is truly extraordinary footage.

Golf fans left their comments on the video below:

"If I’m paired with that guy, I eat the round and head back to the clubhouse bar," one fan said.

"Think he hurried the shot too much, needs to spend a little more time over the ball," another fan said.

"When you wait for the green to clear and then do this," one fan commented.

"Looks like a beekeeper with that hat," another fan commented.

"I don’t think he’s taking it back far enough," one fan said.
