Golf fans FURIOUS with CBS coverage of Genesis Invitational
CBS Sports has been ripped on Twitter after fans were left furious with its coverage of the Genesis Invitational.
Golf fans in America have been left furious with CBS following its coverage of the Genesis Invitational and have called for major improvements.
The American broadcast channel were covering last week's PGA Tour event, the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club, but hundreds of golf fans have tweeted their anger over the 'appalling' coverage.
A huge moment in Sunday's final round was missed by CBS, when Harold Varner III topped his tee shot off the 10th tee whilst he was tied for the lead with Matt Kuchar and eventual winner Adam Scott.
Varner went on to double bogey the par-4 hole, where his tee shot went just 128 yards and left him 176 yards into the hole. After pulling his approach, the American found more trouble around the green and walked away with a double-bogey 6.
The missed shot on the 10th aside, the general coverage of the tournament was ripped apart by fans online, as CBS missed multiple shots while showing interviews and focusing too much on 'story telling.'

I think we all would be fine with mistakes made ‘Once in awhile’... but it’s crap coverage week after week. It isn’t an ivory tower we come from. Less talking, more golf shots, and less commercials. It’s straight forward.

How absolutely horrific was CBS Golf Coverage on Sunday? At what point does something change.
Why does CBS suck at broadcasting golf? why are they so interested in story telling that no one cares about? I don't think the broadcasts have ever been good for true Tour fans but would appreciate your inside those meetings take on why such an inferior product is given.

Avid golf fan who is in touch with Golf’s new media. I have stopped watching weekend coverage on CBS. Rather follow social channels for highlights and updates. PGA Tour is being destroyed by CBS to the point another league may form and be infinitely more enjoyable asap.
Took decades of trial and error, but CBS Sports has finally put forward the absolute worst announce team in all of televised golf.
