Paige Spiranac has revealed John Daly was a 'no-show' in her charity match so a three time PGA Tour winner stepped in to save the day.

PGA Tour pro steps in after Paige Spiranac hit by John Daly 'no show'

Paige Spiranac has revealed John Daly pulled out of their match billed as 'Beauty vs. The Beast' two hours before their tee time.

The social media heavyweight was scheduled to play Daly for charity but the two-time major champion withdrew on the day.

After Paige was left hanging, three-time PGA Tour winner Jerry Kelly, 53, stepped in and ripped it up, making 10 birdies and two eagles.

"It was the greatest round of golf I've ever witnessed," Paige wrote after the match.

She wrote:

"Today was supposed to be my match against John Daly. When he didn't show, Jerry Kelly filled in. Jerry made 10 birdies and 2 eagles today. It was the greatest round of golf I've ever witnessed. We raised a ton of money for charity and I'm not too mad with the 66 I shot. What a great day at Geneva National!"

Paige did confirm the reason Daly didn't play was because he was injured. It was so bad he wouldn't have been able to play even if he had a cart, she said.

Daly caught the headlines only a few weeks ago when he withdrew injured from the Senior PGA Championship after 13 holes.

After posting a grim image of his swollen legs, Daly put the PGA of America on full blast.

Daly didn't take too kindly to the downhill tee boxes and pleaded with the PGA to address this. "Some guys are ADA, we cannot follow through," he wrote.

Paige did post some images from the match on her Instagram.

Tickets reportedly set spectators back between $15-$105. There was a VIP reception that cost $155.

Paige reportedly also hosted a pool party later in the afternoon after she too played well in the match against Kelly, shooting a 66.

Only last week Paige pointed out that it was seven years ago played her first professional tournament.

Paige decided against pursuing pro golf and opened up on this in a recent interview with Golf Digest, claiming her 'failure' led her to seeing a therapist to deal with her emotions.
