The 4 Aces GC went on to win the season-ending team championship last year with Gooch, and Johnson later told reporters he told Gooch to enjoy the on-stage celebration "because that was the last time he’s going to do that."
Fast forward to the current season, and Gooch now plays on Bubba Watson's Range Goats, where he's since found his stride.
The 31-year-old won his maiden LIV Golf title in Adelaide, and then followed it up a week later with his second victory in Singapore.
Gooch became the league's first back-to-back winner and only the second player to earn multiple victories along with Brooks Koepka.
But despite winning in Adelaide, it was still his former team that took home the team trophy over his Range Goats.
Continuing to fuel the rivalry, Johnson told reporters in Australia:
The feud continued into Singapore, as both the Range Goats and Gooch came out on top.
Gooch then had his own words for Johnson:
After a week off following the Singapore tournament, the two LIV Golf stars will be meeting for the first time since Johnson dropped Gooch.
Gooch, Johnson, and Sergio Garcia, are all set to tee off from the 1st hole during LIV's shotgun start on Friday at Cedar Ridge Country Club.
