Callaway launches Apex CF 16 and Apex Pro 16 irons

Callaway has revamped its better player “Apex” forged iron family with the new CF 16 and Apex Pro.

The longer irons (3-7) in the CF 16 set have been precision engineered with Callaway’s innovative "Cup 360" technology to boost ball speed across the face, while the shorter irons (8-PW) include a unique engineered face plate for enhanced feel and distance control.

Callaway claims its Apex CF16 irons are designed to feel “extremely soft” due to their "quadruple net forging" and mild carbon steel.

The irons feature a progressive offset, sole widths, CG height and notch weighting, with the longer irons utilising more offset for added forgiveness, and the shorter irons designed in a more compact shape for improved feel and control.

RRP: £849 (steel), £1,099 (graphite)

Callaway has also revamped its successful Apex Pro irons for the new season.

Designed with direct feedback from Callaway staff players on the PGA Tour, the Apex Pro 16 irons feature a tour-influenced head shape and design.

The soft feel from the Apex Pro irons come from a 1025 mild carbon steel and advanced quadruple net forging, while their multi-material design optimises the CG of each club.

The longer irons (3-5) encompass more offset and a tungsten insert to lower the CG for higher launch, while the shorter irons (6-PW) utilise a progressively higher CG for more of a controlled, penetrating trajectory.

RRP: £849 (steel)
