Cleveland Golf has launched a new line of "CG Black" clubs that are aimed at golfers with slower swing speeds.

Acknowledging amateurs swing the club at least 15mph slower than Tour professionals, Cleveland Golf has engineered clubs that make slower swingers more efficient and enable them to hit the ball further.

To unlock this potential, Cleveland Golf’s R&D team has sought to lower the clubs' moment of inertia (the ease of rotation - ie the swing arc - around the centre of rotation).

Professional golfers properly cock their wrists, keeping the arc of their swings close to their body and generating tremendous amounts of club speed, while amateurs do not.

By lowering the swing MOI, the company says its new CG Black products "promote a pro-like swing, resulting in higher clubhead speed and greater distance with the same swing effort".

CG Black driver

Cleveland Golf says its new CG Black driver is the "lightest driver on the market to increase clubhead and ball speed for increased distance".

The driver is available in both standard and adjustable options with both featuring the same performance benefits and technological innovations.

The lightweight, sleek design will also help promote more speed and distance for amateur golfers with swing speeds less than 90 mph.

Available in 9, 10.5 and 12 degree lofts.

RRP: £229

CG Black Custom driver

The CG Black Custom driver features an adjustable hosel, allowing golfers to alter loft and face angle.

CG Black drivers also feature Variable Face Technology, to reduce distance loss on off- centre hits and features a lower, more forward centre of gravity to promote a higher launch angle for increased carry and distance.

RRP: £279

CG Black fairway woods and hybrids

CG Black fairway woods and hybrids utilise lower swing MOI and a lower centre of gravity in the clubhead to increase launch angle and carry for both senior players and women.

The CG Black fairway woods are available in 15, 16.5, 18, 20 and 23 degree lofts, while the CG Black hybrids come in 17, 19, 21, 24 and 27 degree lofts.

Fairway wood RRP: £159
Hybrid RRP: £129

CG Black irons

The new CG Black irons are designed to make senior and women golfers carry the ball longer.

Suited for players with swing speeds less than 90 mph, the new CG Black irons are a progressive combination set where the four and five irons feature a hollow hybrid chassis to aid ease of launch, while the six and seven iron utilise a lower centre of gravity that makes them easier to address and work both ways.

The company says its new CG Black irons "combine a number of factors that make them Cleveland Golf’s most accurate iron to date".

Regarded as the lightest irons Cleveland Golf has ever created, the brand adds the irons "make it easier to swing faster without any extra swing effort".

CG Black irons feature a thin, high-strength steel face that creates a larger area of maximum ball speed and allows for more perimeter weighting aiding greater accuracy and consistency.

RRP: £649

CG Black CB irons

The new CG Black Cavity Back irons are designed with the better amateur golfer in mind.

Players with swing speeds between 85 mph and 105 mph and those who prefer to work the ball towards the flag but still want plenty of forgiveness will likely gravitate towards these irons.

RRP: £700
