The new Nicklaus Drawback driver

Every manufacturer in the competitive world of drivers, is looking for a unique ingredient that makes their product stand out from the crowd. For some it's moveable weights to change ball flight trajectory, for others it's a square shape for accuracy and forgiveness.

Another new concept, announced by

TaylorMade
this week and its rivals at

Callaway
and

Ping
is the ability, interchange shafts and heads to deliver extra length and find the most appropriate ball flight.

At
Nicklaus Golf - an instantly recognisable brand but yet to make a big impact on the UK market - they've staked their growing reputation on Dual Point Technology, the creation of top designer Clay Long.

Having originally been introduced a year ago, when it made Nicklaus in the US, one of the hottest driver-makers, DPA has been further developed into two new models - the Fastback and DrawBack - both likely to be on sale in the the UK in March, priced at £199.

Both have a 460cc heads and claim enhanced stability and ball velocity. They have a 10 gram weight plug to help keep the face square at impact, a multi-layer face to make the most of new limits in 'trampoline effect' and Fujikara shafts. The Drawback version is offset to help slice correction.

Nicklaus Golf
is based in West Palm Beach, Florida and is owned by Jack Nicklaus, winner of 18 major championships.
