You may have spotted the latest Odyssey 2-Ball blade putter in the hands of Padraig Harrington in the Nissan Irish Open at Portmarnock.

Harrington used a White Hot version with a softer elastomer insert, likely to be available in the UK next week. Callaway Golf has also produced a ‘firmer feel’ DFX 2-ball blade not on sale until September.

The clubs claim to combine the benefits of the 2-Ball alignment system – making the 2-ball one of the fastest-selling putters in the world - with a more compact blade-styled clubhead design.

Says Callaway chief Ron Drapeau: "These putters started a revolution in putter design, and are the top model of putters in play across the combined six major Tours as well as the No.1 selling putter at retail."

The White Hot Blade has a suggested price of £149, while the DFX blade will sell for around £139. Left-handed versions will not be available until September and October respectively.
