Golf equipment sales in the UK have GONE THROUGH THE ROOF in April

Data insights from PriceSpy show how Brits are responding to the easing of lockdown restrictions in the country along with the warmer weather with golf equipment surging in popularity in the month of April.

While courses remained open for play in Scotland during the latest lockdown, golf courses only reopened in England on March 29 - and judging by the latest data, it would appear players have wasted little time in splashing the cash on new products for their bags.

Golf equipment sales in the UK have GONE THROUGH THE ROOF in April

From April 6 through to April 20, golf shoe sales increased a staggering 341.3% year on year, and have jumped up 7.5% the past fortnight.

Golf club sales have also vaulted up 132.7% year on year, and 46.2% the last two weeks.

The biggest rise, however, is in golf ball sales with a phenomenal 733.3% increase in year on year sales, along with rising 57.7% the past fortnight.

Golf gloves have also increased year on year by an impressive 457%, and 225% the past two weeks.

"Brits are looking to make the most of the easing of restrictions and sunshine following months of lockdown," said Pricespy UK manager Ossie Bayram. "After being stuck at home for what seemed an eternity, our data shows trips to golf courses are proving hugely popular."

He added: "But don't let the sunshine go to your head. If you are shopping for items to make the most of the new rules, research the product and shop around, compare the features and check the retailer is genuine.

"Nobody needs or deserves to get ripped off. Taking time to research the best product and the best price will always pay for itself."
