Kean-ly Felt

Laurel Kean won the State Farm Rail Classic, after having to play a two-hole play-off for her position in the tournament.

Laurel Kean left professional golf early last season and gave lessons at a Cleveland driving-range, before family and friends pursuaded her to come back & play competitively. She played 3 straight rounds of 66, finishing 18 under par.

"I just wanted to have a really good day, a good showing," she said. "If I didn't make birdie early on, I didn't want to rush it and force anything."

Kean chipped in from 30 feet to birdie the 10th, and finished on 7 birdies and a bogey.

Former event champion Mi Hyun Kim (S Korea) finished joint second on 204 with Dina Ammaccapane, while the tour leader Karrie Webb (six wins) finished on 211.
