We are finally here. It is the final major of the year and it is the landmark 150th Open Championship at the home of golf. The tickets have been sold and the field spots have been filled.
Kurt Kitayama, Jamie Donaldson, Brandon Wu all finished in the top 10 at the Genesis Scottish Open and Trey Mullinax secured his first PGA Tour victory at the Barbasol Championship.
The final four places have been filled for the tournament at St Andrews and as we have seen, the big names and best players are already walking the famous Scottish links as we speak.
Everyone dreams of winning The Open at St Andrews. Tiger Woods won two of his three Claret Jugs on the Old Course and he will be looking to add a fourth this week.
The Open in 2022 will have a very significant place in history, not just because of the anniversary, but because of the backdrop of the LIV Golf Invitational Series.
All players who have defected to the Saudi-backed series are allowed to play at The Open, as they were at the US Open. The likes of Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau will be teeing it up.
It is an interesting field and the thousands and thousands of spectators will have many different reasons to watch many different players in what will be another incredible week in Open history.
Here is every player that is in the field for the 2022 Open Championship:
