Billy Horschel reacts to controversial Rory McIlroy comments
American PGA Tour pro Billy Horschel has reacted to the comments made about him by four-time major champion Rory McIlroy.
Billy Horschel wasn't upset when he heard Rory McIlroy 'despised him' in their junior golf days.
Rather amusingly, the American tour pro agreed.
If you haven't heard, McIlroy hit the headlines earlier in the week with his appearance on Golf's Subpar podcast.
McIlroy spoke about his career, the PGA Tour-PIF saga, LIV Golf and more.
One segment focused on who McIlroy hated playing against in the earlier part of his career.
Would it be the aforementioned Horschel, whom McIlroy came toe-to-toe with at the 2007 Walker Cup?
Or golf villain Patrick Reed, whom he battled at the 2016 Ryder Cup in a match for the ages?
McIlroy's answer? Horschel. "And that's saying something," McIlroy joked.
Horschel, who is also in the field at the BMW PGA Championship, knew this was all going to come out into the open.
The two golfers played a practice round together before the Irish Open at The K Club a few weeks ago.

Horschel caught up with McIlroy during the second round at Wentworth.
When we saw caught up, we mean that literally. The two players were in a log-jam because of the nightmarish pace of play McIlroy later described as 'a complete s--- show'.
Both McIlroy and Horschel were filmed enjoying a right laugh. It doesn't take a genius to work out what they were discussing.
Horschel's response?
He agreed entirely with McIlroy's assessment:
