Brooks Koepka believes PGA Tour players will still go to a Saudi Golf…

Brooks Koepka is adamant a proposed new Saudi Golf League will still happen and that some PGA Tour players will "sell out and go to it."

Koepka, speaking ahead of this week's Honda Classic at PGA National, was making his comments just less than 24 hours after Phil Mickelson apologised for his recent comments about the PGA Tour and Saudi Golf League at large.

Mickelson claimed he had "a once in a lifetime opportunity to re-shape the PGA Tour".

He also called the Saudis "scary motherf***ers" and suggested their money had finally given him and the players leverage.

Lefty's comments drew derision from the golf world and his fellow players. Rory McIlroy described him as "naive and ignorant".

Brooks Koepka believes PGA Tour players will still go to a Saudi Golf League

Mickelson has been the strongest advocate for breaking away from the PGA Tour and joining a new golf super league backed by Saudi billions.

As things have transpired so far this month, just about every big-name PGA Tour player has ruled themselves out of joining the SGL, including most recently, and to many people's surprise, Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson.

But Koepka, who has committed his own future to the PGA Tour, believes a number of players will still end up joining the breakaway league. No matter the current situation.

"I think it's going to still keep going," Koepka said of the Saudi Golf League.

"I think there will still be talk.

"Everyone talks about money. They've got enough of it.

"I don't see it backing down; they can just double up and they'll figure it out.

"They'll get their guys. Somebody will sell out and go to it."
