Golf social media sensation Paige Spiranac cracked a hilarious joke about PGA Tour players finally being able to wear shorts following Jay Monahan's shock announcement of a merger with the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF).
The new deal, which was announced during an interview on CNBC on Tuesday, effectively ends the divide in the men's pro game.

The players meeting led by PGA Tour commissioner Monahan was said to be "intense and heated" on Tuesday night.

One PGA Tour pro told McIlroy to "f*** off" during Monahan's speech as tensions reached boiling point in the room.
This came on the same day a host of players decided to withdraw from this week's Canadian Open where McIlroy bids to win his third straight title.

Another PGA Tour pro was said to be "disgusted", while one DP World Tour pro told GolfMagic the PGA Tour's change of heart on Saudi Arabia was clearly a result of "money".
One PGA Tour pro competing this week revealed there is "no way players will be okay with this merger" following a leaked text.
But back to Paige, and she just couldn't help herself by making a joke of what Monahan should have said in his speech to players.
Jay Monahan in the players meeting-“I have big news….you can wear shorts now!”— Paige Spiranac (@PaigeSpiranac) June 6, 2023
Spiranac tweeted: "Jay Monahan in the players meeting - 'I have big news….you can wear shorts now!'
For those none the wiser, LIV Golf permits the use of shorts in competition.
Given PIF are bankrolling the PGA Tour now, Paige could have a point.
