PGA Tour had to limit 'challenges' for Tiger Woods v Phil Mickelson!
Tour reveals the challenges set in Tiger vs Phil match in Vegas on Friday did not violate their policy.
The PGA Tour was forced to "limit" a number of the 'challenges' that Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson were initially planning to make during 'The Match' at Shadow Creek GC in Las Vegas on Friday.
Following the US Supreme Court's decision in May to strike down a federal ban on sports betting, the PGA Tour has since made it clear that its players are not allowed to "gamble or play cards on the premises where a PGA Tour co-sponsored or co-ordinated tournament is being played."
Woods and Mickelson played for a number of side bets during their match, consisting of $200,000 and $300,000 nearest-the-pin challenges.

According to a PGA Tour spokesperson, the 'challenges' did not violate this policy because all of the proceeds went to each player’s charity and therefore were not considered 'bets'.
Sources close to the event said the Tour limited the number of challenges between Woods and Mickelson.
The side bets during 'The Match' totaled $800,000 and went to various charities.
Mickelson defeated Woods at the fourth extra hole to walk away with $9 million.
