Pro (who once pulled up a chair in the fairway) daggers slow PGA Tour players!

We need more Matt Every in our lives.

Pro (who once pulled up a chair in the fairway) daggers slow PGA Tour…

Matt Every will likely want to be known as the dude who claimed two PGA Tour titles at Bay Hill.

But he's also pretty damn hilarious. He's a colourful character. In fact, he was once suspended for three months for violating the PGA Tour's drugs policy.

He hates slow play. Don't we all, though? Every once pulled up a chair and sat on it in the middle of the fairway while waiting on the group ahead.

That creative moment to make a point about horrific pace of play came during the Lecom Suncoast Classic way back in 2019.

Every is now 39 years old and he still hasn't quite given up the dream.

In March, Every told GolfDigest that he still thinks he can play a bit, adding: "I wish I sucked a little more at golf, because it would be a lot easier to just rip the band aid off and be like, 'F*** this!'"

Every, if you weren't aware, has also turned his attention to broadcasting.

He's back on ESPN+'s PGA Tour Live and he was full of hilarious zingers during the coverage of the Mexico Open

In particular, he chimed in with a cracking one-liner during the mid-morning coverage.

He teed it up by talking about slow play, a topic which PGA Tour commentators sometimes dance around.

Every said:

"I feel like, through the years, the [player-caddie] conversations have gotten longer and longer."

Yeah, but the information has become greater, Every was informed.

Every retorted:

"Yeah but... sometimes these guys, like from the middle of the fairway and it's a stock 7 [iron] and they're trying to solve a crime out there."

LOL

Watch Matt Every throw shade about pace of play:

Slow play really is infuriating. It is once again the hottest topic in the golf world right now after Brooks Koepka complained about the 'brutal' pace of play during the 87th Masters.

The finger was firmly pointed at Patrick Cantlay as being the PGA Tour's biggest culprit. One fan put him on the clock

Golf's social media superstar Paige Spiranac, unsurprisingly, offered her take, which led to her accusing a PGA Tour player of being sexist

Matthew Fitzpatrick has similarly appeared completely over it when it comes to slow play.
