Major winner set to make first start in India alongside Masters champion Rory McIlroy
England's Justin Rose make his first start at the DP World India Championship in October.
Former U.S. Open champion Justin Rose is set to make his professional debut in India later this year.
The world number five will tee it up at the DP World India Championship at Delhi Golf Club over 15-18 October.
Rose's Ryder Cup teammates, two-time Masters champion Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood, have also confirmed they will participate in the $4m event that will be played on the 'Back 9' of the DP World Tour's schedule.
McIlroy made his competitive debut in India in 2025, a few weeks after Europe completed a remarkable 15-13 away victory over the United States in the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.
Fleetwood was crowned the winner of the inaugural event, capturing his eighth DP World Tour title in a season that also saw him win on U.S. soil for the very first time at the season-ending Tour Championship at East Lake.
"I've played all over the world over the course of my career, and I'm excited to get the chance to add India to the list this season," Rose said.
"I've heard so much about the country and how passionate the golf fans are, so I'm very much looking forward to teeing it up in the DP World India Championship for the first time and experiencing what Delhi has to offer."
Confirmation of Rose's participation comes three weeks after he endured another heartbreak at Augusta National.
For the second consecutive year, Rose had a great chance to win his first green jacket but came unstuck around Amen Corner during the final round of the 2026 Masters.
McIlroy became only the fourth golfer in history to defend the green jacket with his one-shot win over world number one Scottie Scheffler.
Reflecting on the disappointment in the Telegraph, Rose said: "As the dust settles, I know I can meet that disappointment with a deep sense of pride.
"To compete at this level, to stand toe-to-toe with the likes of Rory and Scottie Scheffler on the game's grandest stage, proves that the hard work – the early mornings and the relentless focus on the 'one per cents' – pays off.
"At 45 I am still learning, still improving and still proving that I belong in the conversation when it comes to major championships."
The DP World India Championship will be the eighth of nine events in the Back 9 phase of the 2026 Race to Dubai, building towards the season-ending DP World Tour play-offs and culminating in the DP World Tour Championship in November at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai.
Details of ticket sales for the DP World India Championship will be available soon.
