Popular PGA Tour pro commits to DP World Tour events in September
Golf fans react as American PGA Tour pro Michael Kim confirms he's going to peg it up in two consecutive DP World Tour events next month.
The unofficial king of golf X / Twitter, aka PGA Tour pro Michael Kim, has confirmed he will be competing in two consecutive DP World Tour events at the BMW PGA Championship and FedEx Open de France in September.
Kim, 32, took to the social media platform to confirm his latest schedule update after having missed out on competing in the 30-man Tour Championship at East Lake in Atlanta.
The popular one-time PGA Tour winner agonisingly missed out by one spot in 31st place after finishing solo 10th at last week's BMW Championship at Caves Valley in Maryland.
Despite that disappointment, Kim, who is ranked 61st in the world at the moment, is now targeting a big push to make the DP World Tour Playoffs in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in November.
In a bid to crack the top 70 players that will compete in the first Playoffs event in Abu Dhabi, Kim has been afforded the chance of competing in both the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth and the FedEx Open de France.
The BMW PGA takes place at famed Wentworth in England, home of the DP World Tour, while the FedEx Open de France is this year staged at Golf de Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche.
Former FedEx Cup champion and two-time BMW PGA winner and defending champion Billy Horschel has also confirmed he will be making his long-awaited comeback from injury this season at Wentworth.
Given Kim doesn't currently occupy a position on the DP World Tour Rankings, he will need two big performances in order to qualify for the Playoffs.
But he's willing to give it a crack.
"Excited to add two DP world tour events to my schedule this yr!" tweeted Kim.
"I’ve always wanted to play a global schedule and I’m really looking forward to it.
"Goal will be qualifying for the DP playoffs in Abu Dhabi!"
Kim also added that he wants to become much more of a global player.
"Tournaments I def want to check out in the next few yrs are Aussie, South African, Swiss opens. Can’t wait," he added.
Kim is one of the most popular PGA Tour players in 2025 as a result of his unofficial tag as the king of golf X / Twitter.
He typically does Q&As with his followers while on the move, giving deep insight into what really goes on inside and outside the ropes.
Kim is also not afraid to voice his opinion on the biggest topics in the sport.

The news has certainly been received well by some of his most ardent fans, who have applauded the American's decision to come over and test his game on the European stage.
"Modern day Rory McIlroy," wrote one.
Another commented: "Good for you! Take advantage of all your opportunities."
"Get it done and enjoy every bit of it," tweeted one fan.
Another wrote: "I wish more of the PGA Tour players from America did this, great to see Michael."
Of events to have counted on the DP World Tour schedule for Kim this season, he played in all four majors along with the Genesis Scottish Open, which is a co-sanctioned event on both the PGA Tour and former European Tour circuit.
Kim finished 27th at The Masters, 55th at the PGA Championship, 50th at the US Open, 34th at the Scottish Open and missed the cut at The Open.
