Golf fans have been reacting with disbelief after Fox Sports released a promotional graphic for the upcoming 2026 LIV Golf League season containing multiple glaring errors.

The graphic, which was designed to promote Fox Sports’ coverage of LIV Golf’s new campaign beginning next week in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has quickly gone viral for all the wrong reasons.

Most notably, three LIV Golf players had their surnames spelt incorrectly — a remarkable oversight given all three are major champions.

The mistakes involved Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson and Martin Kaymer, leaving fans stunned that such basic errors made it to publication.

BREAKING NEWS: PATRICK REED LEAVES LIV GOLF

The graphic, which featured LIV Golf CEO and Commissioner Scott O’Neil front and centrewas first highlighted by popular golf X account Flushing It, who shared the image with the caption: “Fox Sports have released a graphic to promote the new LIV Golf League season with Scott O’Neil, the CEO and Commissioner, at the front and centre. They’ve also spelt 3 player names wrong and Lee Westwood is the only captain missing.”

While the graphic aimed to showcase all LIV Golf team captains, Lee Westwood was notably absent, despite being a joint captain of Majesticks GC alongside Ian Poulter. The Postman was included, but Westwood was not — an omission that raised further eyebrows.

The graphic has since been deleted by Fox Sports, but you can see the original disasterpiece here...

Fans were quick to point out the errors and voice their frustration, with hundreds of reactions flooding social media.

One user wrote: “This has to be a fireable offence… also seems to be last year’s colour scheme.”

Another added: “This is embarrassing. If LIV cannot even produce a poster, they should just shut down now.”

A third commented: “Truly embarrassing. The flagship network of the ‘global golf tour’ can’t get the most basic details correct. If LIV’s broadcast partner doesn’t take LIV seriously, why should I?”

Others questioned whether artificial intelligence was involved, with one post stating: “If this is AI, graphics need to stop being made with them.”

Some even picked holes in the reaction of players: “At least Scott O'Neil looks happy to be there.”

LIV Golf will be hoping the graphic mishap proves to be an isolated incident, particularly with Fox Sports playing a key role in the league’s broadcast future.

Fox Sports inked a multi-year US broadcast rights partnership with LIV Golf starting in 2025. As per the agreement, all events throughout the global golf circuit are to air across Fox networks

The embarrassment comes at a time of significant developments for LIV Golf. Earlier today, the league confirmed a surprise new partnership with Rolex, a brand long associated with the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and golf’s major championships.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press reports that an update on LIV Golf’s long-running pursuit of Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points is expected by the end of the week. LIV remains excluded from OWGR, but recent changes — including a 72-hole format and the introduction of promotion and relegation — have raised expectations that progress could finally be made.

Will LIV Golf finally get OWGR points?
