Jon Rahm drives green at 462-yard par-4 (!) but trails Bryson DeChambeau at LIV Golf Mexico

Jon Rahm found the green from 462 yards away at the par-4 13th in the second round of LIV Golf Mexico City, but Bryson DeChambeau is the man everyone has to catch.

Jon Rahm ripped a drive 462 yards to find the green at the par-4 13th during the second round of LIV Golf Mexico City.

At elevation, Rahm pummelled his Callaway driver to find the green.

The former World No.1 would fail to convert the lengthy eagle putt but he would two-putt for birdie.

Watch Rahm's awesome drive here:

It marked one of five birdies in a round of 69 for $600m LIV Golf signing Rahm, who nudged himself up to 9-under par in solo fourth.

But it's fellow big-hitting rival Bryson DeChambeau who everyone has to catch thru two rounds at LIV's first event in Mexico at Club de Golf Chapultepec

DeChambeau started the week with a brilliant 63 and he then added a 66 on Saturday to progress to 13-under par.

He's attempting to capture his LIV Golf hat-trick and first win on the breakaway league since LIV Golf Chicago in September 2023.

The two-time U.S. Open champion finds himself one shot clear of a resurgent Cameron Smith, who matched his round of 66.

Smith is looking for a fourth win on LIV and his first since LIV Golf Bedminster in August 2023.

Incredibly, DeChambeau has eagled the par-4 2nd measuring 316 yards twice in two rounds so far this week.

Both DeChambeau and Smith will head out together in Sunday's final round.

They were both complimentary of each other's games after the second round.

“It’s scary when he gets on the greens,” DeChambeau said of Smith.

“Whenever he gets on the greens, I’m like, well, that’s a one-putt. Pretty awesome to watch him putt.”

“I wish I could drive the ball like him,” Smith returned on DeChambeau.

“I often wonder how much better of a golfer I would be if I could drive the ball like him.”

Added DeChambeau: “Playing in the final group tomorrow will be a lot of fun. We’re going to go after it.”

Joaquin Niemann is also in the hunt for a record-equalling fifth LIV win.

Niemmann, who leads the LIV Golf standings, is three shots behind DeChambeau in solo third on 10-under par.

Rahm is fourth on 9-under par, one shot ahead of his Legion XIII teammate Tyrrell Hatton, who rounds out the top five heading into the final round.
