Former PGA Tour star Anthony Kim has teased what his plans are for the future after he was relegated from the LIV Golf League.

Former PGA Tour star Anthony Kim says you'll be seeing him again 'soon' despite being relegated from LIV Golf.

Kim finished in the drop zone on the PIF-backed breakaway for the second consecutive year.

The 40-year-old played for the past two seasons as a wildcard and was exempt from relegation.

But LIV's relegation system underwent a significant change in 2025, meaning golfers who finished 49th and below in the individual standings really are given the boot.

Two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson finished in the relegation zone last season, but returned to captain the RangeGoats after making 'a business case' to remain on the team.

Branden Grace was also re-signed by Stinger, despite finishing in the drop zone and failing to earn his spot back via LIV's version of Q-School.

Former Open champion Henrik Stenson is also now in the same predicament as Kim.

Kim's decision to join LIV in late 2024 initially turned heads, given he had spent the best part of a decade away from the public eye.

The 2008 Ryder Cup star left the PGA Tour in 2012, vanishing without a trace.

It led to widespread speculation as to his whereabouts and activities. On Google, millions searched for: "What happened to Anthony Kim?"

Kim confirmed upon his return that he struggled with drug addiction, mental health issues and encounters with manipulative individuals.

In a social media post last year, Kim even suggested that he was using drugs while playing in major championships and at times even considered taking his own life.

Kim, who recently celebrated two years of sobriety, took to Instagram on 18 August to reveal that this won't be the last you see of him.

"Unfortunately didn't have the results this year," he wrote.

"On a positive note my game has gotten significantly better even though the scores didn't reflect it but great things take time.

"I have lots of thoughts on the last two years, my journey in recovery from mental illness and addiction and my future plans."

Kim said he'll be sharing those plans on his website.

What could the future hold for Anthony Kim?

Kim could head to LIV Golf's 'Promotions' event in December to try and earn back his spot.

The more likely scenario, though, is we will see Kim tee it up next year on the Asian Tour's International Series.

The order of merit winner of the International Series earns a spot in the LIV Golf League.

Kim could also fill in for LIV Golf as a reserve, travelling to tournaments and teeing it up when and if players get injured.

John Catlin, Max Rottluff, Minkyu Kim, Ollie Schniederjans, Wade Ormsby and Young-han Song were LIV's reserves in 2025.
