Sweden's Maja Stark held her nerve to claim her first major title at the U.S. Women's Open.
The Solheim Cup star secured a two-shot victory at Erin Hills after outlasting American World No.1 Nelly Korda and Japan's Rio Takeda.
Stark, 25, became only the third Swede to lift the trophy and first European winner of the event since Annika Sorenstam in 2006.
She went into the final round with a one-shot lead and never left the top spot despite pressure from the chasers.
Korda later admitted she was heartbroken and told reporters she continues to have a 'complicated' relationship with the major she has never won.
Stark said her arms were shaking down the stretch and at the beginning of the week never thought it was possible to be in the winner's circle.
"This just feels huge," Stark said.
"You always know that it's possible, but there are so many good golfers on this tour. I [didn't] think I would be able to do it this week.
"I just didn't want to get ahead of myself. I thought there's still a lot of golf left to be played and I just felt like people are going to pass me probably, and I just had to stay calm through that.
"I didn't look at the leaderboards until I was on 17. I caught a glimpse of it. It was nice."
Stark also secured her fair share of prize money.
The USGA confirmed last week the 2025 edition of the U.S. Women's Open had a total purse of $12m.
Stark took home a whopping $2.4m.
