Scottie Scheffler made a lethargic start in his bid to win at Pebble Beach for the first time in his career on Thursday.
Scheffler, 29, made just three birdies in a level-par 72 at Pebble Beach and it leaves him a staggering 10 shots off the early pace in T64.
The runaway World No.1 will now head to Spyglass Hill on Friday, a course that played a shot and half harder than Pebble Beach on day one.
At the top of the board, Japan's Ryo Hisatsune looks down on the 79 other players in the field.
Hisatstune fired a stunning 10-under 62 on Pebble Beach to move one shot ahead of Sam Burns (Pebble Beach) and Keegan Bradley (Spyglass).
This season's two-time PGA Tour winner Chris Gotterup continued where he left off in Phoenix last week by carding a 8-under 64 at Pebble Beach.
The in-form American is joined in a tie for fourth alongside Tony Finau and Patrick Rodgers, who both posted their scores at the slightly tougher Spyglass Hill.
Elsewhere, Jordan Spieth is off to a solid start with a 6-under 66 at Spyglass.
Defending champion Rory McIlroy raced out the gates at Spyglass but a number of sloppy putts coming home derailed his charge and he settled for a 4-under 68.
Only 12 players shot over par in the 80-man field on day one, testament to the low scoring on both Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill.
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am marks the first Signature Event of the 2026 PGA Tour season.
As a result there is a huge $20m prize purse on the line with $3.6m going to the champion.
Thankfully for Scheffler and other players who started slowly on Thursday, there is no cut and so all 80 players will compete in all four rounds.
