The Procore Championship marks the beginning of the FedEx Cup Fall after the PGA Tour's regular season came to a close.

So what is it and, more importantly, how does it all work?

Well, after the conclusion of the FedEx Cup playoffs, players ranked outside the top 50 in the standings have the chance to compete for points.

Essentially, playing rights for the 2024-2025 season are on the line in the FedEx Cup Fall.

Players who finish inside the top 125 in the FedEx Cup retain full status for the following season.

The FedEx Cup Fall was introduced in 2023 as part of changes to the PGA Tour's structure and directly impacts players who didn't qualify for the playoffs.

Related:

PGA Tour members who finish inside the top 50 are guaranteed starts in next year's signature events and do not need to play the Fall series.

They may, however, choose to pursue prize money, points and tournament glory.

Breaking it down:

Players ranked 51 to 70 at the start of the Fall series have already locked up their top-125 eligibility.

So why are they playing?

Well, they are chasing spots into the signature events.

Signature events feature smaller fields with increased prize money.

For anyone ranked 71 and below, they will be eyeing up one of 10 'trending' spots into the signature events given to the 'in-form' players.

Following the conclusion of the FedEx Cup Fall series, anyone ranked from 126 to 150 will receive conditional status for the following season.

For the others, they have regain their PGA Tour status via Q-School.

FedEx Cup Fall prize money:

Prize money on offer in the FedEx Cup Fall vary between $6m and $8m, with the winner receiving the 18% of the total purse.

That means the winner of each tournament will receive between $1-1.5m.
