Genesis Invitational prize money: Check out how much cash Jacob Bridgeman took home after scooping his first PGA Tour title at Riviera Country Club.
Jacob Bridgeman held off challenges from Rory McIlroy and Kurt Kitayama to earn his first PGA Tour title at the Genesis Invitational.
Northern Ireland's McIlroy began the day six shots off the lead and made five birdies on his final round to finish on 17 under.
But his four-under 67 was not enough to catch the American, who got over the line with a 72 to win by one stroke from McIlroy and his compatriot.
An emotional Bridgeman was reduced to tears as he hugged wife Haley Farmer and shook the hand of tournament host Tiger Woods.
He was the first man to win the Genesis Invitational on debut since 1975.
"I'll rue basically all 18 holes yesterday and then the front nine today, like 27 holes where I failed to capitalise on the chances I gave myself," McIlroy said in the immediate aftermath of defeat.
"Once I started to trust my reads a bit on the back nine and I went more with my first instinct, I putted a little bit better.
"I was almost just giving them too much thought and not going with my first instinct and that sort of cost me."
Elsewhere, world number one Scottie Scheffler saw his run of 18 consecutive top-10 finishes come to an end.
England's Marco Penge, who was leading the tournament with Bridgeman after 36 holes, ended tied for 16th place.
Bridgeman also scooped his fair share of prize money. The 2026 edition of the Genesis Invitational had a total purse of $20m.
The 26-year-old walked away with a cheque for $4m.
