Joel Dahmen has withdrawn from the forthcoming World Wide Technology Championship on the PGA Tour.

No reason was given for Dahmen's withdrawal, with the official communications team just confirming the 35-year-old has been replaced in the field by Jonathan Byrd.

Played over 2-5 November, the World Wide Technology Championship is debuting at a new venue.

For the very first time the Tour will be heading to El Cardonal Golf Course at Diamante having previously been staged at El Camaleon at Mayakoba.

El Camaleon, designed by Greg Norman, was snatched by the LIV Golf League. A preliminary schedule suggests the breakaway tour will be heading back there again in 2024.

El Cardonal is designed by Tiger Woods

Dahmen has one PGA Tour win to his resume. He rose to prominence after appearing in the Netflix documentary Full Swing.

Golf fans appeared to enjoy Dahmen's self-deprecating nature and the relationship he has with his caddie Geno Bonnalie.

Dahmen is currently ranked No. 156 in the Official World Golf Rankings. He had an up-and-down 2022-2023 season, missing out on the postseason after finishing 84th in the FedEx Cup standings.

His best finish thus far in the re-imagined FedEx Cup Fall season came when he posted a T-7 at the Shriners Children's Open.
