Max Homa ends partnership with Tiger Woods’ former caddie ahead of Charles Schwab Challenge
Max Homa makes another caddie change ahead of this week's PGA Tour event at Colonial.
Max Homa will have a new face on the bag for this week’s Charles Schwab Challenge after ending his partnership with veteran caddie Lance Bennett, who used to caddie for Tiger Woods.
The split comes in the wake of Homa’s missed cut at the PGA Championship earlier this month, with Golfweek first reporting the news ahead of the PGA Tour’s stop at Colonial Country Club.
Homa had a week to forget at Aronimink, slumping to 12-over par after rounds of 75 and 77.
And it's led to immediate change ahead of the PGA Tour's latest event in Fort Worth, Texas.
Peter Pappageorge, a close friend of Homa’s, has now been listed as Homa's caddie for the Charles Schwab Challenge.
Bennett joined Homa midway through last season following the American’s decision to part company with Bill Harke at the RBC Canadian Open.
Homa heads to Colonial this week searching for some consistency after what has proven a difficult campaign.
The 35-year-old has made nine cuts in 13 starts this season but only chalked up just one top-10 finish — albeit a big one at The Masters, which marked just his third career top-10 at a major championship.
However, as a result of his dip in form, the six-time PGA Tour winner has slipped to a lowly 123rd the world.
He was once ranked as high as fifth back in April 2023.
Homa also looks on from the 74th rung of the FedEx Cup ladder.

Before Bennett joined his bag last season, Homa spent more than a decade alongside longtime friend Joe Greiner, a partnership that coincided with the most successful stretch of his PGA Tour career.
Greiner has since become one of the most sought-after fill-in caddies on the PGA Tour.
He worked briefly with Justin Thomas during last year’s RBC Heritage victory, later spent time alongside Collin Morikawa, and now caddies full-time for Akshay Bhatia, who captured the Arnold Palmer Invitational earlier this season.
Bennett arrived with an extensive résumé of his own.
Alongside a short stint with 15-time major champion Woods in 2024 before his injury layoff, Bennett also worked with players including Matt Kuchar, Sungjae Im, Davis Riley and Michael Thorbjornsen.
It remains to be seen which player's bag Bennett picks up on Tour.
