Some PGA Tour fans on X weren't too pleased with Brian Harman after the golfer was involved in a tense exchange with reporters after the first round of the RBC Heritage

Harman, who came into this signature event after a disastrous Masters performance, carded an opening round of one under 71 at Harbour Town Golf Links.

The reigning Open champion managed to play the first 16 holes bogey-free.

He had a decent scorecard going as he made birdies at the third, sixth, ninth and 13th holes.

But he was left to rue a poor finish where he dropped a shot at the par-3 17th before making a double bogey at the final hole.

Understandably, it left the PGA Tour pro hot and he was in no mood to talk about it afterwards.

Some golf fans weren't pleased with Harman's actions.

One suggested that given that this is a no-cut, limited field event where he will earn $40,000 regardless of his score, he should show more respect towards his media duties.

Others were more measured in their response, stating that by asking poor questions you can expect poor answers.

One thing is clear: this was a memorable interview.

For full context, you can make up your mind by reading the transcript below and watching the clip yourself.

Here's the full transcript of Harman's interview:

Q. Brian, not the way you wanted to end it. How would you assess your round overall?

BRIAN HARMAN: I played good except the last two holes.

Q. What did you do in between the week of the Masters and coming down here?

BRIAN HARMAN: Went home. Not much, spent the weekend at home with my family.

Q. Can you walk us through the birdies you had on --

BRIAN HARMAN: Chipped in on 3.

Made an eight-footer on 6, I guess.

10-footer on 9.

Made a 15-footer on 13.

Q. Can you walk us through the last hole there?

BRIAN HARMAN: No.
