Scottie Scheffler followed his temper tantrum with birdie blitz

Before Ted Scott agreed to become Scottie Scheffler's caddie, one of the conditions of their arrangement was that the American had to get control of his temper. 

If you didn't know, Scheffler was/is a bit of a hot-head. 

Over the years, we have seen some truly epic club tosses.

There was one occasion where he was filmed repeatedly slamming an iron into his tour bag, absolutely disgusted at the shot he had just hit. 

He has got much better since then because - let's face it - winning every tournament you play after hitting every fairway and green in regulation along the way will help sooth anyone's ruffled feathers. 

But sometimes the Scheffler of old slips through the cracks. 

That much was evident at the Charles Schwab Challenge. 

For a brief moment, Scheffler's streak of 36 consecutive cuts on the PGA Tour was in danger after he carded a truly shocking opening round of two-over par at Colonial Country Club. 

And he was clearly still perturbed by that judging by how animated he was early in his second round. 

This outburst happened on the 640-yard par-5 11th hole (Scheffler's second of the day). 

His birdie putt burned the edge of the cup and Scheffler was not a happy bunny. 

Not one bit. 

After tossing his club, the hot mics picked up Scheffler saying: "Oh screw these greens, man!". 

Scheffler managed to hit the dancefloor in two strikes so it's understandable that he was more than a bit frustrated. 

Update:

We did have a video, but it appears the party-poopers at PGA Tour HQ took the clip down, seemingly unhappy that their golden boy can be shown in anything other than a positive light. 

Unsurprisingly, Scheffler then managed to find something with his game and carded a second round of five-under 65. 

It left him tied for 15th with 36 holes remaining. 

In other Scheffler news, it has emerged the cop who arrested him before the PGA Championship was previously disciplined for doing 'donuts' in his police car with an 'intoxicated' person in the back whilst he was on duty. 

Scheffler is scheduled to be arraigned on 3 June, a week before the 2024 U.S. Open.
