Who is Scottie Scheffler's stand-in caddie at the BMW Championship?
Here's all you to need to know about Scottie Scheffler's stand-in caddie Mike Cromie, who has replaced Ted Scott at the BMW Championship.
Scottie Scheffler's normal long-time caddie Ted Scott remains out of action to attend a private family matter during this week's BMW Championship, and Chris Kirk's caddie Mike Cromie has stepped in to assist the World No.1.
Scott had to leave Scheffler's bag immediately after the third round of the FedEx St Jude Championship last Saturday.
He was replaced by Scheffler's good friend and the PGA Tour chaplain Brad Payne.
Scheffler went on to finish one shot out of a playoff that was eventually won by Justin Rose.
Scott needs to remain at home this week in order to deal with a private family matter.
With Kirk falling short of qualifying for this week's BMW Championship at 51st in the FedEx Cup rankings, he has given permission for Cromie to join Scheffler's bag for the penultimate event of the FedEx Cup race.
Scott has been on Scheffler's bag for all 17 wins so Cromie has big shoes to fill at Caves Valley GC in Maryland this week.
Just had it confirmed from a PGA Tour spokesperson that Ted Scott will still not be on the bag for Scottie Scheffler at the BMW Championship ❌

Who is Scheffler's stand-in caddie at the BMW?
Cromie has been on the bag of six-time PGA Tour winner Kirk since 2020.
He has caddied for Kirk for two of those victories.
The first came at the 2023 Honda Classic, which broke a near eight-year winless streak for Kirk on the PGA Tour.
Kirk then went and won The Sentry alongside Cromie in January 2024.

Cromie is a talented golfer himself having represented the Georgia Bulldogs golf team.
He racked up an impressive four top-10 finishes from five starts during his senior year.
Cromie is married to wife Collins.
They share two children and a dog.

Kirk and Cromie most recently came up agonisingly short of reaching the BMW Championship.
That was after Kirk finished 51st in the FedEx Cup race, with the top 50 advancing into this week's event.
But Cromie remains in the race, at least for one more week, as he has partnered with golf's best player on the planet in Scheffler.
The PGA Tour has confirmed to GolfMagic that no official time frame has been placed on Scott's return to Scheffler's bag.
It therefore remains unknown at this stage as to whether Scott will be able to caddie for Scheffler at next week's Tour Championship at East Lake.
Scheffler will attempt to become the first player in history to successfully defend the FedEx Cup title at the Tour Championship.
This year there is no adjusted handicap start at the season finale.
GoflMagic would like to send our best wishes to Ted Scott as he deals with his private family matter.
