Brandt Snedeker issues Ryder Cup warning to Luke Donald after U.S. Presidents Cup victory

Brandt Snedeker fired a warning to European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald after the United States completed a thrilling comeback to clinch the 2026 Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club.

The hosts trailed Geoff Ogilvy's International team by three points going into the Sunday singles and were looking to avoid just a second defeat since the competition began in 1992.

Snedeker's red, white and blue dominated the singles, winning nine of the 12 matches to seal a 17-13 win in Chicago – the scene of Europe's "miracle" comeback win in 2012.

"It doesn’t mean anything for me, it means more for USA golf," Snedeker told reporters in the immediate aftermath of victory.

"I think we're all tired of this narrative that we don’t care about each other, that we don't know how to play team golf. I think this proves it.

"You don't come back the way we did if these guys haven't all bought into each other.

"This team is going to be a problem in Ireland. It's going to be a problem."

His message will have undoubtedly already captured the attention of Donald.

The former world number one will not struggle for any motivation when Europe clash with Jim Furyk's Team USA next September at Adare Manor.

Donald will attempt to become the first captain to win three Ryder Cups in a row.

He led Europe to a 16½-11½ win over the USA in Rome in 2023 before masterminding last year's dramatic 15-13 triumph in New York.

Snedeker also paid tribute to United States president Donald Trump.

Trump was in town on Sunday and was expected to speak on the first tee for 15 minutes.

But the POTUS, after greeting all 24 golfers, only delivered a short speech. He also gave former Masters champion Adam Scott an aggressive handshake.

"I think these guys never lost faith," said Snedeker.

"I know what that team room is like. I told the guys last night that funny stuff happens here.

"Medinah has a history of funny things happening. Sure enough, they went out and played their asses off today. I'm so damn proud of those guys."

He added: "I cannot get over what Jackson Koivun did today. I put him in a really tough spot out there. We thought he could handle it. Sure enough, he did. He went out there and looked like the stud we know he's going to be.

"So damn proud of Jacob Bridgeman getting his first point as a Presidents Cup rookie.

"All these guys fought for each other, fought for this country, fought for this team.

"And one last shout-out to Donald Trump, President Trump. He told me I was going to bring some energy today for you guys, you guys need it, and I told him if we did this, he gets all the credit.

"Thank you, President Trump."
