Luke Donald makes off-course announcement just weeks after retaining Ryder Cup captaincy
Luke Donald confirms new partnership with Charles Tyrwhitt as he goes in pursuit of becoming the first captain in history to win three Ryder Cups on the spin.
Charles Tyrwhitt has announced European Ryder Cup captain and former world number one Luke Donald as its newest Global Sports Ambassador, marking the brand’s first collaboration with a professional golfer.
The partnership comes three weeks after Donald, 48, confirmed he will retain the captaincy for the 2027 European Ryder Cup at Adare Manor, where he will aim to become the first captain in history to secure three wins on the bounce in the event’s 100-year history.
Donald has a proven Ryder Cup pedigree, leading Europe to a five-point triumph at Marco Simone in Italy in 2023, followed by a dramatic 15-13 win at Bethpage, New York, two years later.
Across his career, he held the world number one ranking for over 56 weeks, boasts five PGA Tour wins, seven European Tour victories, and maintains a perfect record across four victorious Ryder Cup appearances.
Donald's new partnership with Charles Tyrwhitt will see him styled by the brand for key off-course engagements, complementing the precision and polish he is known for on the course.
The collaboration launches with Charles Tyrwhitt’s summer campaign, Summer’s in Swing, shot at the iconic The Bear’s Club in Jupiter.
Rolling out this May across the UK, USA, and Europe, the campaign also features cricketers Joe Root and Stuart Broad, and New York Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe.
"While I still love competing on the golf course, I’ve spent more time speaking about leadership, performance and building winning teams," said Donald.
"Those occasions require a different kind of preparation. I’ve always believed the details matter. The same care and precision I value in my preparation is what I look for in what I wear off the course.
"Charles Tyrwhitt’s craftsmanship and timeless style feel aligned with that mindset – classic, assured, and quietly confident."

Joe Irons, Chief Marketing Officer of Charles Tyrwhitt, said: "We’re delighted to work with Luke. Being a winning Ryder Cup captain again at Bethpage really does make him a global sporting icon.
"His poise and leadership resonate deeply with our customers across the UK, Europe, and USA. He’s a natural and authentic ambassador and embodies the Charles Tyrwhitt spirit."
The partnership reinforces Charles Tyrwhitt’s commitment to high-profile sporting collaborations, alongside existing partnerships with the New York Yankees, England Rugby, The British & Irish Lions, Fulham FC, and rugby ambassadors Marcus Smith and Matt Dawson.
