Ryder Cup: Huge clues over fourballs and foursomes pairings revealed at Bethpage
Ryder Cup 2025: The groupings for Tuesday's practice round provide us clues about fourballs and foursomes pairings for both United States and Europe at Bethpage.
The picture as to who will be playing alongside who in the foursomes and fourballs at the Ryder Cup is much clearer today as a result of the practice groups being sent out for both Europe and the United States at Bethpage.
Luke Donald's Team Europe are heading off the 1st tee for their Tuesday practice session starting at 9.30am local time, while Keegan Bradley's Team USA head off the 10th from 10.30am.
As you can see from the fourball pods set out below, there are some very expected partnerships on display.
GolfMagic has received early access of the fourball groups that are heading out onto Bethpage on Tuesday.

Ryder Cup Pairings - Tuesday Practice Round
Europe
Tee off hole 1
9.30am:
- Rory McIlroy
- Tommy Fleetwood
- Justin Rose
- Shane Lowry
9.45am:
- Viktor Hovland
- Robert MacIntyre
- Sepp Straka
- Rasmus Hojgaard
10.00am:
- Jon Rahm
- Tyrrell Hatton
- Ludvig Aberg
- Matt Fitzpatrick
Some very expected fourballs have been sent out by European captain Donald on Tuesday.
McIlroy is highly likely to be playing alongside Fleetwood in the foursomes, especially as they went 2-0 together in Rome.
There's a good chance we'll then see McIlroy alongside Lowry and Fleetwood with Rose in the fourballs.
The second group of European practice is a little tougher to decipher, but you would think a possible scandinavian partnership of Hojgaard and Hovland might be deployed by Donald at some stage, with MacIntyre and Straka linking up too.
Then in the final group, we have the expected partnership of Legion XIII duo Rahm and Hatton, as well as a likely new pairing of Fitzpatrick and Aberg.
Donald stuck Aberg and Fitzpatrick together for the first two rounds at the BMW PGA two weeks ago, which drew the earliest clues.
United States
Tee off hole 10
10.30am:
- Scottie Scheffler
- Russell Henley
- Collin Morikawa
- Harris English
10.45am:
- Bryson DeChambeau
- Cameron Young
- Justin Thomas
- Ben Griffin
11.00am:
- Patrick Cantlay
- Xander Schauffele
- JJ Spaun
- Sam Burns
Similarly to the European groups, the picture is looking clearer on Bradley's Team USA as a result of Tuesday's practice groups.
Scheffler and Henley looks a banker pairing for the foursomes, especially since they played well together at last year's Presidents Cup.
This a different test for Henley of course, on his Ryder Cup debut, but his rise is open for all to see having this week risen to a career-best OWGR ranking of third.
We will likely see Henley team up with English in the fourballs at some stage as both players hold Georgia ties, and Scheffler potentially could play with Morikawa in that format too.
In the second grouping, we've got the expected foursomes pairing of DeChambeau with Young since both players play with the same golf ball - something that is a big thing for The Mad Scientist.
There's a good chance we'll see Thomas playing alongside Griffin in the fourballs, but it remains to be seen whether Griffin plays in the foursomes at all, especially given he's using a Maxfli golf ball that is different to everyone else.
In the final four-man pod on Tuesday, we've got best friends Cantlay and Schauffele together as anticipted, as well as possible new partnership of Spaun and Burns.
Of course the above is not set in stone ahead of Friday and Saturday's foursomes and fourballs, but we can certainly start to build a clearer picture of who is going to be playing with who at the 2025 Ryder Cup.
