Legendary commentator Jim Nantz has revealed he thinks Jordan Spieth will win the Masters for the second time of his career in April.

Nantz told SI he is making his prediction now instead of the week of the tournament as he doesn't want golfers to think he is rooting against them.

Spieth, now 30 years old, has an incredible record at Augusta National.

Aside from his wire-to-wire victory at the 2015 Masters as a 21-year-old, Spieth has made eight cuts from nine starts and posted four top-5 finishes.

Scottie Scheffler is the current betting favourite to win the 2024 Masters, followed by reigning champion Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka and Viktor Hovland

But Nantz, 64, believes it will be Spieth who will be slipping on the green jacket.

"I'd rather make my prediction now than the week of the tournament," Nanzt told the publication

"Because on Sunday's final round no one will remember it. But right now it might be interesting.

"It's dangerous to pick it the week of the tournament because you get there and the players think you're rooting for someone other than them."

He added: "I'm going to throw one name out there, and I'll go with Jordan Spieth.

"If you look at his career record at Augusta, it's phenomenal what he's done.

"Now, I know that a lot of that happened in '14, '15, '16, but he had a run of years where he had top-fives, top-twos, a victory.

"He had that run a couple of years ago where he was making birdies all over the landscape coming into 18.

"So, I like what I saw of him at Kapalua. I know at that point, we're like almost 100 days out, but I'm gonna go with Jordan Spieth."

When will Jim Nantz retire from calling The Masters?

Nantz has said in interviews his ambition is to commentate on 51 Masters, which would mean he would continue to 2036.

He has anchored CBS's coverage of the Masters since 1989.
