European golf legend Bernhard Langer has confirmed he will compete in his final Masters Tournament this April.

Langer, 66, won The Masters twice in 1985 and 1993 at famed Augusta National.

Those wins marked Langer's two career majors among 42 European Tour victories.

Langer ranks second to late great Seve Ballesteros (50) in the all-time victory list on the European Tour.

Golfers are permitted to compete in The Masters for as long as they wish providing they have a Green Jacket to their name.

Langer will be competing in his 41st Masters from 11-14 April 2024.

But it will be his last as Langer confirmed the news via the PGA Tour Champions social media account on 17 January.

The record 46-time PGA Tour Champions pro will also more than likely make his final US Open appearance at Pinehurst from 13-16 June, too.

Langer is able to participate in the 2024 US Open as a result of being the reigning US Senior Open champion.

He clinched his second US Senior Open title in 2023 with a two-stroke victory over Steve Stricker at SentryWorld.

Langer's best-ever result at the US Open was a T4 at Olympic Club in 1987.

Langer told PGA Tour Champions:

"It's going to be my last Masters this year. So I've already decided on that, and probably will be my last US Open too unless some miracle happens in the future. Yeah it's exciting, at the same time I'm aware that I'll be hitting 3-irons and 2-hybrids when the other guys are hitting 9-irons into the green and that's tough to compete against, but it's a challenge and I usually don't shy away from challenges."

Langer became the first official World No.1 back in April 1986.

He held the post for three weeks before being replaced by Ballesteros.

Langer won three times in total on the PGA Tour, highlighted by his two Masters victories in 1985 and 1993.

The German won by two strokes in '85 and by four strokes in '93.

He sandwiched in the 1985 Sea Pines Heritage with a playoff victory over Bobby Wadkins.

Langer played in 10 Ryder Cup matches for Europe, and he was captain of the victorious 2004 European Ryder Cup team.
