Scottie Scheffler was seen visibly frustrated with the state of his game alongside his coach Randy Smith after the second round of the US Open.

Scheffler, 28, carded a lacklustre 1-over 71 to fall to 4-over par in golf's third major of the season at a brutal Oakmont Country Club.

Just about every department of Scheffler's game has looked off for 36 holes so far.

Scheffler seemingly knows it, too.

The runaway World No.1 headed straight to the range after making bogey on his final hole.

Cameras picked up Scheffler ranting about his golf swing.

Scheffler was flinging his hands up in the air and clearly unhappy about something.

Scheffler's long-time coach Randy Smith was seen giving him some pointers.

Caddie Ted Scott appeared to just stand there and let his boss unload.

Scheffler appeared to hit a lot of shots to the left on day two.

Despite finding himself at 4-over par for the tournament, Scheffler is safely through to the weekend. But he's a long way behind.

Watch Scheffler visibily frustrated here:

Groups were taking over 5 hours and 40 minutes in the second round.

The biggest hold up came on the par-5 12th.

Incredibly at times there were five groups on the hole at once.

Scheffler was playing alongside Viktor Hovland, who carded a 68, and Collin Morikawa, who went round in 74.

Golf fans have been reacting to the pace of play on social media.

Scheffler was asked about it all after his round, but he appeared more worried about the state of his game.

"I know it's hard out there but why's it taking so long?" said a reporter.

Scheffler replied: "Why do you think?"

"I don't know, it felt long to me. Both the par-5s we basically walked up on the group in front of us.

"When it's up on number 8, you've got a drivable par-4 on 17 and 8 is basically a drivable par-4 too.

"You guys are the ones that are watching, I'm just trying to play. I've got to many concerns other than the pace it takes to get around this place."
