Monday 8 June marks one of the most intense days in golf as final qualifying for the 2026 U.S. Open takes place across 10 venues worldwide.
Known as “Golf’s Longest Day”, the 36-hole marathon will decide the final players who join the 156-man field at Shinnecock Hills (18–21 June).
By the end of today's play, dreams will be made and broken in equal measure as players battle for one of golf’s most coveted major championship spots.

Final qualifying is being broadcast extensively on Golf Channel from 12pm, with live studio coverage from Rich Lerner and reporters stationed across all 10 venues.
J.J. Spaun will return to defend his U.S. Open title at Shinnecock Hills in 10 days time, in a week where world number one Scottie Scheffler will have the chance to become just the seventh player in the modern era to complete the career grand slam.

What’s at stake
A record 10,201 entries were accepted into the 2026 U.S. Open qualifying process — just one short of last year’s record.
Local qualifying was played over 18 holes, but final qualifying is the ultimate test: 36 holes in a single day under pressure-packed conditions.
Only a handful of players from each site will progress to Shinnecock Hills, with two additional alternates also awarded.
