How to create backspin - step 4

The secret to creating backspin lies in a short, compact and aggressive golf swing.

Swing down hard and hit the ball first, taking a divot in front of it after the ball is struck.

The complete reverse of what you're after is a long backswing where you decelerate through the strike. 

Trust the length of your backswing and be nice and aggressive through the shot.
