Astbury Hall ready to rock and roll

Astbury Hall Golf Club designer and Judas Priest star KK Downing is delighted to announce his Shropshire course will play host to the final qualifying stage of the inaugural Four Nations Golf Challenge on September 5.

The lead guitarist of the 50 million-selling, award-winning heavy metal band has created his 6500-yard course in Bridgnorth to USGA specifications which has been added to Troon Golf, the world’s leading golf management, development and marketing organisation.

“Having toured the world and played some of the greatest courses, designing this course has fulfilled a lifelong ambition, ranking alongside my passion for rock music,” said Downing.

“I am extremely proud to welcome this unique Four Nations Golf Challenge to Astbury Hall.”

The Four Nations Challenge, created by Concierge Golf, will see club golfer of all handicaps take part, where four teams of 12 players will have the chance to play for their country – England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales – in the live Sky Sports final at The Oxfordshire Golf Club in Chiltern Hills from September 25-28.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for golfers to feel the passion of playing for one’s country and experiencing the nail-biting finish witnessed in the final of the recent Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor,” said Director of Concierge Golf, Roger Brady.
