Dundee golf course targeted by vandals

CAMPERDOWN golf course is the latest to be struck by vandals, after club officials discovered the fifth green had been ravaged at 7am on Monday.

The total cost of the damage to the 6,548-yard par 71 course has been estimated at over £2,000.

And the timing could not have been worse, as the Dundee course was today due to host 'Golf Dundee' - a new initiative to promote the sport in the city.

One player described the wreckage, saying: "It's a bit of a mess. They have left deep chunks on the green."

The vandalism happened just days after police in Dundee appealed to the public for help following a spate of vandalism in the city centre.
