LIV Golf Indianapolis 2026 prize money: Winner's payout slashed in half at season finale
The LIV Golf Indianapolis winner will receive just over $2m this week, half the amount awarded at every previous individual event.
The LIV Golf Indianapolis champion is set to collect a significantly smaller cheque than winners have become accustomed to on the breakaway circuit.
The individual purse for this week's 57-man event at The Club at Chatham Hills stands at $10.1 million, with the winner receiving $2.02 million.
That represents a substantial reduction from the $20m individual purses used at previous LIV Golf events, where first place traditionally carried a $4m prize.
The change means the Indianapolis champion will receive almost exactly half the winner's payout that had become standard across LIV's individual tournaments.
There is, however, considerably more money at stake across the season-ending event.
A further $10m season-long individual championship bonus is being distributed among the top three players, while $30m is available through the season-ending Team Championship.
That takes the overall prize money and bonuses attached to LIV Golf Indianapolis to $40.1m.

Prize category | Total purse | Winner |
|---|---|---|
LIV Golf Indianapolis individual tournament | $10.1m | $2.02m |
Season-long individual championship bonus | $10m | $6m |
Season-ending team championship | $30m | $8.4m |
The reduction in the individual purse at The Club at Chatham Hills comes after LIV cancelled next week's Team Championship in Michigan, which had been scheduled to bring the 2026 campaign to a close.
What would have been $70 million in prize money across Indianapolis and Michigan has gone down to $40.1 million.
The Indianapolis tournament therefore takes on added significance, with LIV CEO Scott O'Neil describing the event as both the finale of the league "as fans have known it" and the starting point for what comes next.
But questions over LIV's financial future have also intensified this month.
BC Partners are said to be leading the race as LIV Golf's new investor following Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) pulling the plug on spend past this season.
However, BC is said to want assurances that the league's best players are going to remain on the league, and that would appear to be a big worry right now.
Mutliple reports have surfaced over the past few days claiming the league's best player and three-time Individual Championship winner Jon Rahm is set to play in his final LIV Golf League event this week.
Rahm, who is understood to still be owed a nine-figure sum, is reportedly contemplating an expensive route back to the PGA Tour.
A report from Sports Business Journal has also claimed a number of players are still waiting for payments following LIV's last tournament at Bedminster.
Some players have even threatened to not play should the issue not be resolved by Thursday's first round.
For the players who do compete at Chatham Hills this week, the numbers are now clear.
The winner will take just over $2m, while every player who finishes inside the top 30 will receive more than $85,000.
