adidas and Metalwood team up on a course-ready tribute to Y2K football culture
Featuring pro shop-approved football jerseys, baggy joggers and a football boot-inspired take on the new MC70 golf shoe.

adidas has experimented with skate-led golf attire before, most notably releasing its Rolling Links collection towards the end of 2024. Many of the hallmarks of that collection have made their way into this one, with the brand's more fitted performance pieces making way for garments that combine performance fabrics with baggier, more street-ready silhouettes.
Pushing this approach further, the Three Stripes has today unveiled its collaboration with LA-based golf apparel studio Metalwood, fusing the latter's skate-inspired take on golf attire with its own heritage-driven approach.
“We saw tremendous success when we combined the fashion and skateboarding communities with our Rolling Links collection in the fall of 2024," says adidas Global Director of Apparel Shaun Madigan. "We wanted to dive deeper into these communities and felt Metalwood was the perfect partner to bring another chapter like this to life.
"The result is a perfect blend of adidas and Metalwood to inspire all golfers with additional ways to style their look for the course.”
For this link up, the two centred the collection around the theme of football, building on the Predator football-boot inspired Sala skate shoe that they released earlier this year. This capsule, however, is more firmly rooted in golf, the two taking some of adidas' most famed Y2K-era football aesthetics and applying them to a capsule that's ready for the pro shop.

"adidas is the only brand that can combine fashion, sport and streetwear in such an iconic way, but while still maintaining the aesthetic that we offer fans of Metalwood, added Metalwood Founder Cole Young I’m really proud of where the pieces in this range landed and can’t wait for both Metalwood and adidas audiences to appreciate them.”
The centrepiece of the collection is a football-inspired take on the new MC70 golf shoe: a heritage-inspired footwear model designed with subtle performance features while retaining a classic look. The upper on the MC70 has been completely reworked, however, with a football boot-like upper immediately recognisable to anyone who's ever pulled on a pair of Copa Mundials.
The shoes are complimented by a capsule of clothes that evoke the iconic football teamwear of the mid-2000s. A pair of football jerseys, rendered with adidas's famed Teamgeist template, are available with collars and integrated ventilation for on-course wear, while a tracksuit-inspired pullover and pleated trousers (modelled by Pebble Beach Pro-Am winner Collin Morikawa) round out the collection.

You can shop the full collection on February 19 at Metalwood's website before the capsule hits adidas's website, app and select retailers on February 20.
