Adidas drops a trio of budget-friendly golf shoes to kick off 2026
Fresh for the 2026 season, the AdiPower, MC70 and updated S2G offer an affordable, accessible option for performance-focused, classically-minded and more casual golfers alike.

adidas is already one of the most prolific golf shoe manufacturers both on tour and among amateur golfers, beloved by players the world over for its offering ranging from elite high-performance models to casually-styled golf shoes styled after some of its most iconic sneakers.
It's also fair to say that the brand has been on something of a heater for the last couple of years. Tour-approved models like the Adizero ZG and Tour360 continue to rack up wins on tour, while the introduction of the adidas Originals golf range, styled after the brand's classic '80s era sportswear, has become synonymous with a new era of more considered, lifestyle-driven golf fashion.
Now, the brand is expanding its mid-range even further with the addition of three new models catering to very different styles of golfer at a lower price point. The ADIPOWER is modelled after high-performance shoes like the CodeChaos and Adizero ZG, the MC70 is a more budget-friendly alternative to the classically styled MC80, while the updated S2G is a revised take on the brand's ever-popular sneaker-inspired golf shoe.
We got the chance to preview all three new models, and talk to adidas Golf Global Footwear Director, Masun Denison, to dive into what's new with each shoe.

The ADIPOWER 26 offers an affordable entry-point into high performance shoes
Adidas's flagship release to start the 2026 season, the ADIPOWER 26 revives a name that's been dormant for almost a decade while re-affirming adidas's commitment to providing shoes that deliver true top-end performance without an elevated price tag.
To do so, the ADIPOWER takes a little bit of what makes all of the Three Stripes' flagship performance models, namely the Tour360, Adizero ZG and CodeChaos, great and distills it down into one shoe that delivers a balanced package. "It has very good stability, but it's not quite as structured as a 360." Denison tells us. "It's pretty lightweight, but it's not as light as Adizero. It's aesthetically versatile, but not quite as casual as something like an S2G."
Techwise, the ADIPOWER has the longest list of new features of any of Adidas's new shoes for the year. The ADIPOWER sees the debut of Adidas's REPETITOR foam in its midsole, which is more stable and structured than Lightstrike or Boost while still providing a decent level of energy return under foot, while an added POWER PLANE TPU plate connected to the traction platform helps ground the golfer and enhance ground force throughout the swing.
Spiked and spikeless options are available, the former coming equipped with an in-house cleat that adidas developed in collaboration with CHAMP/MacNeill (it'll fit aftermarket spikes).
The full-leather upper and added foam heel pad are also nice touches, providing a level of comfort and luxury rare in shoes at this price point.

The MC70 is an accessible take on a cult classic
Styled after classic golf shoes while cleverly working in some of Adidas's most advanced technology, the MC80 became a bit of a cult classic when it dropped back in 2024. Now its more affordable sibling is here in the form of the MC70, which despite being slightly cheaper still effectively harnesses the 'classic look, modern performance' mentality that made the MC80 so popular.
"We were blown away with the reaction of MC80," says Denison. "We believed in the product, but a lot of buyers would say, 'I think it's a good shoe, but I can get that from so many brands. You guys aren't a classic brand.' But no one should own the classic look. It's an aesthetic. So when we decided to do this, we said our avenue in would be through technology because that's who we are as a brand. So when we do classic shoes, we do torsion systems. We do super-lightweight, and we do hidden drop-in cushioning. That's what sets us apart."
Perfectly timed to hit the market at a time when classically-styled shoes are roaring back into vogue, the MC70 retains the MC80's full-grain leather upper, offering a choice of spiked (£120) or spikeless (£110) traction platforms, the latter of which is made from cast polyurethane for added traction, stability and durability, and comes with the option of a BOA lacing system, and is actually the debut shoe on which the BOA's new, minimalist L6 Dial U system is used.
The full-length Boost midsole MC80 found on the MC80 makes way for a more responsive LightStrike foam, capped off with a Boost insert in the heel for a pop of added comfort. Both are equipped with adidas's much-used TORSION bar in the mid foot, which reduces lateral twisting to enhance stability while walking and swinging.

The new S2G cuts an even cleaner silhouette with even more comfort
Debuted back in 2024 as a sneaker-style shoe that packed in a ton of performance yet drifted well under the £100 price point, the S2G instantly became one of adidas's most popular golf models. Two years on, the S2G 26 refines this package even further while adding more nods to the brand's unrivalled sneaker heritage.
The S2G once again draws its main inspiration from the much-loved sneakers adidas released throughout the '70s and '80s, with the addition of a new waterproof nylon variant to the line-up styled with the famed T-toe synonymous with models like the Samba and SL72 running shoe.
"The option of the meshy material is nice and lightweight," says Denison. "And if you can keep it waterproof, it really helps bring the whole package together into something that gets even further away from what people think a Golf Shoe looks like. I think it makes a massive difference to off-course wearability."
Pops of colour are going to be a big theme with the S2G, with plenty of funky colourways planned to drop over the coming months, while a tumbled full-leather version is also available for those who want a bit of extra structure and durability.
Underfoot, the S2G delivers the steady traction and comfort that the 2024 edition was so well-received for, while lightening the entire package and adding even more comfort. A Cloudfoam+ midsole replaces the S2G 24's Lightstrike platform, providing a softer sensation for the wearer for longer-lasting comfort.
