The drivers used by the 10 longest hitters on the PGA Tour in 2026

Some golf fans flock to PGA Tour events to see a complete display of golfing skill from tee to green. Others go to see some of the longest hitters in the world serve up absolute bombs.

The driver is, and always will be, the funnest club to watch the pros unleash on the course, as they hit clubhead and ball speeds that to the naked eye seem to defy the very laws of physics. As such, the drivers the pros use often go on to be some of the best-selling clubs on the market that year.

This, naturally, got us thinking: who hit it the longest this year, and what did they use to do so? As such, with the PGA Tour 2026 regular season behind us and the playoffs underway, we've put together a list to see which of the best drivers helped the pros unlock the most distance on tour this year, and who in turn crushed it better than the rest.

As will become clear here, however, long driving doesn't necessarily equate to good driving. Even so, when you're bombing it like these guys, it probably doesn't matter all too much.

10. Gordon Sargent

Average driving distance: 319.9yds

Total driving rank: 25th

Driver used: Titleist GTS2

Sophomore Gordon Sargent is armed with some of the smoothest speed on the PGA Tour, something he used to great effect in securing a top 10 spot in average driving distance for the first time.

Unfortunately, while the American he was one of the longest drivers on tour this year, he was also one of the least consistent elsewhere, finishing 150th on tour in total strokes gained and missing 11 of 17 cuts. He'll now have to put in a strong showing in the FedEx Cup Fall Series to have a shot of keeping his tour card through 2027.

9. Jesper Svensson

Average driving distance: 320.9yds

Total driving rank: 57th

Driver used: Titleist GTS3

Jesper Svensson just kept his PGA Tour Card for 2027, securing the critical 125th position in the FedEx Cup rankings to retain his fully exempt status for next year. He'll need all of his distance if he's to make a serious push in the Race to Dubai rankings to close out the year.

8. Min Woo Lee

Average driving distance: 320.9yds

Total driving rank: 15th

Driver used: Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond

Chef Woozy has been one of the tour's most consistent players this year, making 14 of 17 cuts and finishing high in the rankings for both total driving and shots gained around the green. He's also come into his own as one of the tour's longest hitters this year, clocking a 320 yard driving average for the first time after switching into a new Callaway Quantum TD driver – which was good for a career-best place of 15th in total driving.

7. Chris Gotterup

Average driving distance: 322.2yds

Total driving rank: 67th

Driver used: Ping G440 LST

Hitting the number 7 slot for the second year in a row, Chris Gotterup is entering the business end of his 5th year on tour in the FedEx Cup top 5 having experienced a true breakout season. His three wins on tour this year have come as a result of excellent play both off the tee and on the greens, his PING G440 LST firing him to a 322 yard driving average and a career best placing of 8th in strokes gained off the tee.

6. Gary Woodland

Average driving distance: 322.3yds

Total driving rank: 7th

Driver used: Cobra OPTM MAX-K

American Michael Thorbjornsen is, by some metrics, one of the most complete drivers of the golf ball in the world this year, ranking not just 6th in average distance with his new Cobra OPTM MAX-K driver but 7th in total driving and 4th in SG off the tee. He was able parlay this into an emotional comeback tour win. Not bad for a guy playing what is ostensibly a game improvement driver.

5. Rasmus Højgaard

Average driving distance: 323.0yds

Total driving rank: 90th

Driver used: Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond

Last year's European Ryder Cup winner has found a new level with the driver this season seasons, spending both 2024 and 2025 among the top 20 in strokes gained off the tee. This year in particular he's gained nearly 10 yards on average with his Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond, jumping from 11th in driving distance last year to 5th this year. We need that gym routine.

4. Nicolai Højgaard

Average driving distance: 323.3yds

Total driving rank: 71st

Driver used: Callaway Elyte TD Max Driver

Just outside the medal places for distance this year is the other Højgaard twin, who finished 4th in average distance and well exceeded a 320 yard average drive. Sadly his accuracy, long a weakness of his, suffered as a result, and he finished the year ranked a lowly 153rd in percentage in driving accuracy.

3. Marco Penge

Average driving distance: 318.8yds

Total driving rank: 77th

Driver used: PXG Lightning Tour Mid

Last year's breakout DP World Tour star hasn't had a super illustrious debut season on the PGA Tour, making just a single top 10 and 10 cuts in 16 starts. The Englishman has, however, established himself as one of the Tour's longest drivers, claiming the bronze medal in his first year of trying with his PXG Lightning Tour Mid driver. His distance was enough to establish himself among the tour's top 10 in both average distance and strokes gained off the tee.

2. Michael Brennan

Average driving distance: 326.3yds

Total driving rank: 9th

Driver used: Titleist GT3

Last week's Wyndham Championship winner will also go down as one of the PGA Tour's longest ever hitters over the course of the season, and indeed Brennan's current 326.3 yard driving average matches Rory McIlroy's all-time record. The American, a Titleist ambassador, uses a GT3 driver like much of the brand's tour roster, and is among the Tour's top 10 most effective hitters off the tee to boot, ranking 9th in total driving and 2nd in strokes gained off the tee.

1. Aldrich Potgieter

Average driving distance: 330.7yds

Total driving rank: 78th

Driver used: PXG Lightning Tour Max

Not since the days of Tiger has someone come on to tour and established themselves as its biggest hitter in the space of a few seasons, but that's what 21-year-old Aldrich Potgieter did this year. 

Averaging a booming 330.7 yards off the tee with his PXG Lightning driver, the big-swinging South African is on course to break the all-time PGA Tour record for total driving distance: a marker set by Rory McIlroy back in 2023. 

However he's far from precise with the big stick, ranking 161st on tour in driving accuracy, and will need to be on his best form if he's to make a push into the deep end of the PGA Tour playoffs.
