Revealed: Average total distance yardages by golf handicap category - where do you stand?!
Shot Scope has provided the very latest total distance yardages by golf handicap category; are you above or below the average?! Find out.
The latest average total distance yardages by golf handicap category have been revealed by Shot Scope, but where do you stand?
Performance tracking specialist Shot Scope has provided average total distance yardage data for driver down to lob wedge across handicap ranges of scratch, 5, 10, 15 and 25.
Some of the latest findings may surprise you.
For example, scratch players apparently average 285 yards total distance, while those off 25 average just over 200 yards.
Another notable stat includes scratch players averaging a total distance of 200 yards with their 5-iron in comparison to 143 yards for a 25-handicapper.
That's a 60-yard difference, which is the equivalent of about five clubs, with scratch golfers hitting their pitching wedge 143 yards on average.
It's also interesting to note 10-handicappers hit the ball a bit further than 5-handicappers with their short irons and wedges.
